This weekend was my first visit to Cabana Brasilian Barbecue, and I was not disappointed. With all new establishments in the recently refurbished Corn Exchange in Manchester, Cabana Brasilian Barbecue has a great atmosphere, with seating that overflows onto the central communal area of the Corn Exchange, and for 17:30 on a Saturday evening, it was moderately busy.
For food, I ordered the PULLED PORK SLOPPY JOSÉ with sweet potato fries and slaw. Sometimes, I just cannot resist pulled pork when it is on the menu. Although, the pulled pork was a little too mushy for my liking as I like it stringy, but tasted great! It was malagueta pulled pork smothered in mayo and a nice firm bun. However, the best part of the dish were the sweet potato fries, which were nice and crispy and tasted amazing! To top it off, Cabana Brasilian Barbecue offer their very own sauce: The CABANA KICK MALAGUETA SAUCE. Perfect! I couldn't stop putting it over the superb sweet potato fries. This should be its very own dish!
I HAVE JUST DISCOVERED THAT YOU CAN BY THE SAUCE !!! £6.95 for a bottle. Fantastic!
With a 2 for 1 offer on selected cocktails, it was only polite to order one from the drinks menu. Although, the offer does not allow one to mix and match and as a compromise, I opted for the fruity rum Daiquiri, which was my friend's choice. (I initially wanted The Godfather, which was a mix of Whiskey and Amaretto!). Shame you cannot mix and match, but I suppose one can take the offer and have two drinks all for oneself. The cocktail was a little small for the price, but next time I will try The Godfather as the Daiquiri was not to my taste
The only criticism I have from this visit is that the servers didn't seem that attentive to us, and one server seemed to be more interested in entertaining himself singing at dancing to colleagues at the entrance.
